NEW DELHI: Taiwan as a member of the comity of nations has every right to be in the World Health Assembly, says Wang Ting-Yu, Member of Parliament and a member of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party. In an exclusive chat from Taipei with StratNews Global, Wang said Taiwan needed international help in combating the Chinese coronavirus, and this help was missing since it is excluded from the World Health Organisation and therefore from the assembly. He said China’s claim that it was looking after Taiwan’s interests in the WHO had no basis. Taiwan is an independent country and has been so for many decades. He sought India’s help in correcting this grave injustice. On bilateral relations with India, he called for closer diplomatic and commercial exchanges, saying the two countries had much in common with each other.
