NEW DELHI: As the security situation deteriorated rapidly in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on 15 August, India put in place a quick rescue and evacuation plan in place. After civilian air traffic was closed on Monday, two Indian Air Force (IAF) transport planes–the c-17 Hercules Globemaster–were sent into ferry back Indian diplomatic and security staff, besides some journalists and other Indian citizens.
