NEW DELHI: After a devastating earthquake struck Turkey and Syria earlier this week, India was among the first responders to the tragedy. Even before requests for help came in, India mobilized medical aid, disaster-relief personnel and equipment within hours and sent them off to the quake-hit countries as part of a mission called ‘Operation Dost’. Turkey’s relations with India of late have been less than friendly but the swiftness with which India reacted is a heartwarming example.
