Even as Japan eyes the contenders to replace Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, the White House has announced U.S. President Joe Biden will host the first-ever in-person Quad summit on September 24. It will be attended by Prime Minister Suga and his Indian and Australian counterparts Narendra Modi and Scott Morrison. In this interview, Ambassador Wadhwa discusses whether Suga’s successor will carry on with his predecessor Shinzo Abe’s Indo-Pacific vision in the face of an aggressive China and what the new Prime Minister will mean for India.
